Rory SteynRory was appointed to the Presidential Protection Unit in 1996 as team leader of one of President Nelson Mandela's personal security teams and conducted the protection of the former President both nationally and internationally.
Prior to this, Rory had a long and accomplished history in the South African Police Service, where he specialised as an investigator, intelligence field-worker and section head of the Johannesburg VIP Protection and Bomb Disposal Units.
He retired from the SAPS in July 1999 with the rank of Superintendent (Lieutenant-Colonel) and Dr. Ali Bacher, managing director of the then United Cricket Board of SA (UCBSA), appointed Rory as the UCBís first security consultant in preparation for the countryís hosting of the ICC Cricket World Cup in 2003. Rory has grown to become an internationally renowned expert on executive protection and major sports event security and is a sought-after conference speaker and consultant to organising bodies and sporting federations in this field, globally.
With well over 33 years of hands-on experience in policing and private security, Rory has also served on the Security Directorate of the ICC Cricket World Cups 2003 and 2007. He chaired the Security Directorate for the inaugural ICC World Twenty20 in 2007 and performed protective services to international sports tours of SA ever since Indiaís first post-apartheid cricket tour of South Africa in 1991, the 1995 IRB Rugby World Cup and the 1996 CAF African Cup of Nations. Rory is proud to have worked on the 2010 FIFA World Cup on home soil where he coordinated and managed all NSA operations in support of FIFAís commercial partners.
Robert NichollsBobís extensive experience in the highly specialised personal protection arena began with his training in private security and VIP protection in the United Kingdom. In 1994, he became the first civilian consultant to the South African Police Service (SAPS) during the restructuring of its VIP Protection Unit (when non-statutory forces from the liberation movements were incorporated into existing police VIP Units). Having provided protective services to the highest level of clientele in a variety of countries, Robert has extensive knowledge and experience in the demanding field of personal protection.
Robert has been involved in numerous major international events in all parts of the world since 1996 and has worked extensively throughout Africa, Asia and the Middle East. In 2008, he commanded the 7-man NSA team responsible for the highly publicized rescue of 150 people during the terrorist attack on the Taj hotel in Mumbai. Robert continues to be involved in the planning, management and provision of protective services worldwide, particularly in Asia and the Middle East.
Robert has been involved in the protection of all international visiting cricket teams to South Africa since 2001, and has accompanied international sports teams on numerous tours. He has acted as the NSA lead director regarding security arrangements for the Indian Premier League. He has also been invited to participate in the security coordination for the annual Academy Awards since 2006.

Jean Senekal Ė Manager: Africa Operations and Secure Travel ManagerJean Senekal forms and integral part of the NSA operation having been with the company for fifteen years. NSA Africa as well as NSA Secure Travel forms part of Jeanís profile, both being managed with competency, extensive experience and on the ground operational and logistical talent. Prior to joining NSA in 1999, Jean had an outstanding career in the South African Air Force VIP Protection Unit and as a member of the SA Army and has all-encompassing training in VIP protection.
Tinus Barnard Ė Manager: South Africa OperationsTinus began his career in the SA Air Force where he qualified as a VIP Protector, assigned to the VIP Protection Unit, responsible for the execution of protection assignments for international and local visiting delegations and VIPís. On leaving the Military, Tinus continued in the private security industry.
He is a highly respected VIP Protection Specialist who has been in the private security industry for 15 years. In 2005 he was assigned as Assistant Manager to NSAís Middle East Division and was based in Saudi Arabia where he was involved in daily operations, training and security projects for both local and international clients. These days Tinus utilises his skills by managing all NSA South Africa operations and logistics.
