Robert Nicholls Bob Nicholls’ extensive experience in the highly specialised personal protection arena began with his training in private security and VIP protection in the United Kingdom. Since then, he has spearheaded the training of protection personnel for many organisations and in 1994 became the first civilian consultant to the South African Police Service (SAPS) during the restructuring of its VIP Protection Unit, when non-statutory forces from the liberation movements were incorporated into existing police VIP Units.
Having provided personal security services to the highest level of global clientele, Bob continues to be involved in the planning, management and provision of protective services worldwide, particularly in Africa, Asia and the Middle East – into which he currently heads Nicholls Steyn & Associates’ expansion.
Bob has been involved in the protection of all international visiting cricket teams to South Africa since 2001, and has accompanied international sports teams on numerous tours. He has acted as the lead NSA director regarding security arrangements for the Indian Premier League. In addition, Bob has been invited to participate in the security coordination for the annual Academy Awards since 2006.
